1. How does the site search work?
If you type multiple words in the search string, only results that have both words are returned. You can limit your search to a specific category by selecting it from the drop down list.
2. Do Flash movies affect my Search Engine rankings?
In theory Google can index Flash movies, but we don't think Flash movies/content gets very indexed very well. With things being as competitive as are right now for keyword/key-phrases optimization we don't recommend using them. However, if Flash animation is important to you and you're up to the challenge, go for it.
3. Do I need to edit my website myself?
On small business brochure websites, not necessarily but yes, you can. As technology changes fast these days, its not common to have validated websites with clean code using FrontPage extensions to update content on a website. There are a few new tools to help you edit some content on your website however you must be sure that the WYSIWYG editor you will use to edit content directly supports the new standards to update content on your website. We also offer some good online tools to help you with content and picture changes on your website. You might ask for more details if you're planning to update your website yourself. If you're getting a e-commerce or database solution from us, those tools give you a back-end where you can define and update content on your website fairly easy.
4. How frequently do I need to update my website?
It depends on what you're doing with your website, but we definitely recommend you a plan for this. Content is critical for optimization and "fresh" or new content is an important factor for ranking. If you have a small business brochure website you might probably want to update twice a year some pages on your website, you might also have a page to display the latest news on your website and you can add a couple of notes once a month or every two months if you want. For e-commerce or database websites you might update or add content more frequently, those kind of websites are build to have those changes as need it. In any case if you're doing optimization, you might want to talk with our optimization people about the importance of getting new information on your website and what will be the best way to do it without having problems with the code and content to optimize your website.
5. What is a website template?
A website template is a ready-made web-site design that can be used as the foundation of building a new website. Within a short period of time, you can replace the text and pictures in the templates with your own using the appropriate software.
6. How long does it take for a design to be completed?
The timescale of a project is generally dictated by the client. If you have a deadline in mind we will endeavor to meet it for you. The most common delay in the creation of a site is waiting for content (text/images) to be sent to us by the client.
7. I would like you to design my site, what do I need to do now/what is the process?
If you would like to use our services all you need to do is inform us of the domain name you would like to use and send us a brief idea of your requirements or you can fill out our Free Quote Form for a fast and FREE proposal. We will then purchase the domain in your name, purchase the right hosting package for your project and then based on your guidance, design an initial web page for you.
8. What is ftp?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a method of transferring files (web pages for example) from your local PC to your web server.
9. What is Search Engine Optimizations?
All web pages should be 'optimized'. This will enable your site to gain a high search engine ranking, it revolves around the Meta tags on your web pages, a web page that isn't optimized won't appear in the search engines to any great degree. It also bears saying that each Search Engine or Directory is different and you can expect it to take anywhere from 3 days to 6 months before you are found in all of them. For more on SEO click here.
10. If I already have a site can you help me improve it?
Yes. We can redesign or add content to an existing site, and costs less money than building one from scratch.
11. Will I get to see what my website looks like before it's finished?
Certainly! Once we've created a basic design for your site, we'll post it your new hosting account. This will enable you to view the latest additions and changes to your web design project as it progresses.
12. Is there any maintenance required after designing and hosting a website?
Depending on the business, some amount of maintenance may be required. As your business evolves, it may require some things to be added, deleted, or modified.
13. What is "Web Hosting”?
